Month Long Tournaments
Due to the recent Executive Order 58, we will be extending the Beat Saber Tournament beyond July. We know that wearing a mask while inside the headset will make it very difficult for you to compete at a high level. The tournament will be extended until the end of August.
Tournament Structure:
JULY 2020 = Beat Saber
Song = “Give A Little Love” Expert with no modifiers
Over a full month, while you are here for your normal VR sessions, you can pay $2 to be entered into the tournament and win the cash prize. During your normal session, you can let a DWVR employee know that you’re ready to do a Beat Saber tournament submission. The employee will go to your station and make sure that all settings are what they need to be and the employee will watch as the song is performed and record the score when finished.
While doing the song for the submission, any issues a competitor encounters like accidentally hitting the menu button, slipping/falling, getting a phone call, etc… will not reset their submission. Any outside factors like power outage, another person in the arcade interfering, game crash, etc… that the competitor doesn’t have direct control of will allow for a reset of the submission.
Competitors are allowed to submit as many times as they would like throughout the whole month. If a competitor submits a score and then gets a lower score for a later submission, then the higher score will always stick.
- Entry Fee: You can submit as many entries as you want. Each entry will cost $2 and members of DWVR UNLOCKED get one free entry per month. Individual entries are to be paid in cash; however, entries of five or more can be made with card.
Prizes & Awards:
FIRST PLACE will also be given 1-month of DWVR UNLOCKED and given the option to have their name, score, and photo listed here on the Tournaments page of the site for braging rights.
Restrictions:
DWVR owner, employees, or their direct friends and family members are not allowed to enter the tournament.
Previous FIRST PLACE winners are not be able to participate in tournaments for the same game they won in the past (for example if you won a Beat Saber tournament in the past, you can still participate in a tournament for Pistol Whip, but not a new Beat Saber tournament).
